INTEGRATED PROGRAMME FOR SENIOR CITIZENS (IPSrC) AT NAGAPATTINAM DISTRICT

Our main Goal of running Integrated Programme for Senior Citizens (IPSrC) is Enhancing health status, social relationship and self-esteem of the vulnerable elders by providing peaceful home shelter care for neglected 25 elders belonging to our project area of Nagapattinam District. Our senior citizens home is supported by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. At this reporting period, 5 deserted elders (4 male and 1 female) were newly admitted in Home and 05 elders were reunited with their families successfully. Due to old age, 01 inmate was passed away. Kitchen garden, newspaper reading, watching television programs, hearing radio, cleaning home environment and group singing are some of the periodical entertainment activities conducted at Home. The inmates forget their worries and interestingly involved in these activities. The Home for the Aged felt satisfied of its services to the elderly through yoga, counselling support and recreational activities.
